Yep, gender identity is pretty much what I was referring to but my brain is pasta noodles and so I couldn’t word anything.

It also solves the problem of why there’s two Mewtwos with different genders, from the same bit of DNA. They’re probably the same physical gender (whatever that is doesn’t matter to that argument) with movie 16 Mewtwo either being a recreation of the experiment or just a clone of a clone (pre-“birth” movie 1 Mewtwo’s DNA.  Giovanni was obviously a Big Dumb but don’t tell me he put all that money into creating a living war machine only to not take steps to protect his investment.)
